Soup’s on! Thanks to a fabulous online farmers market, YourFarmstand.com, and the kind encouragement of the market director, I have started offering a weekly vegetarian soup. It’s prepared fresh in “Mama D’s Kitchen” from the highest quality local and organic ingredients on market day, and served in reusable glass jars (because I know you don’t want troublesome BPAs in your food). Most ingredients are grown by Dave at Stonyloam Farm, Pete at Pete’s Greens, Dave and Rachel from Full Moon Farm or by me in my garden. Chowders and creamy soups have the cows and people at organic Kimball Brook Farm in North Ferrisburgh to thank for the tasty milk and cream. Order online anytime before midnight on Wednesdays, for pickup on Thursdays at any of the pick-up places in Charlotte, Shelburne and Burlington (Pine Street), Vermont. Make it an easy all local meal by adding bread, cheese and a seasonable vegetable salad (all available on the YourFarmstand site). A sampling of soups offered:
